| We all know the cliché advertising images: they are delicious and volumptuous. Sharp tounges claim to know that these images come along without serious meaning even before we did some improvement on them. |

Advertising is holy! The basic law even knows: The dignity of Ads is inviolable. If you don’t believe, read for yourself: article 36 of the human rights. Every person has everywhere the right of acknowledgement as consumer. And even kiddies learn at home while supper: you mustn‘t play with advertising! At last there are still enough starving children in africa hungry for plenty more ads! But reality in Berlin Friedrichshain is quite different: full of bravery we’re shouting into the backyards of this metropole of creativity: „Is it allowed that advertising comes out and play?“
In November it is granted: and that‘s the chance to enjoy 12 advertising billboards in the metro station Berlin, Samariterstraße that promote things, modern people really need: for example the innovative print-magazine „prison bride“, the advantages of having a lobotomy or – scary, scary – promoting seal hunting as adventure sport.
Unfortunately these ads can´t be identified with a maker. There’s no single reference all around the station telling who’s responsible for this project. The poeple passing by are looking at the images, leftovers of well known ad-clichèes and advertising worlds instead, and they have to deal with a new situation.
What is this all about? Because we love to show what advertising has done to the minds of designers and beloved friends and how we try to deal with. That means to us and for the project: neighter negate advertising from the bougeois, educated middle-class principles nor take it for granted without criticism, but reflect about it with a grin. We don’t think that we’re changing the boaring face of advertising completely into a new style with our decent project. It’s rather our intention to put a little smile on the face of those numerous people, that are the guinea pigs of the advertising industry, big companies & design agencies all day long. We also are giving the opportunity and the vital impulse to make the world go rounder and that everything will be better in the foreseeable future – usualy with us!
The project is documented with a catalog showing the entire work and varying reactions. Similar to recent magazines also other artists and projects will be introduced that dealed with advertising and brands in another, more experimental way.
